Ben Hu
Principal & Founder
Ben delivers strategic business advisory and fractional execution services to medtech startups and growth companies. He specializes in guiding leadership teams through the critical milestones required to advance complex projects from concept to commercialization. By optimizing product-market fit, generating compelling preclinical and clinical evidence, and translating complex data into powerful messaging, Ben helps companies secure essential fundraising and build clinician trust. His unique strength lies in bridging the gap between high-level strategy and cross-functional execution, making him an invaluable asset to organizations looking to accelerate their financing and growth.
Before founding Parallax, Ben served as the head of Product Management at Jupiter Endovascular. In this role, he directed product roadmapping for the Vertex Thrombectomy System, led the development of the Vertex clinical procedure, and co-led the successful execution of the SPIRARE I and SPIRARE II clinical trials, which directly contributed to a $40M+ Series B financing round. Prior to Jupiter, he held pivotal leadership roles across both venture-backed startups and market-leading, large-cap medtech organizations, including Stryker, Medtronic, and Neptune Medical.
Ben holds an MBA and a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. He is deeply passionate about growing regional medtech ecosystems beyond traditional medtech hubs, actively serving as a coach and mentor with the Center for Entrepreneurial Development, First Flight Venture Center, Innovate Carolina, and the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering.
